Individual therapy
We are a place where you can share a difficult situation, in confidence, with qualified people.

What is individual therapy?
Individual psychotherapy offers personalized support with a qualified and empathetic therapist who will help you overcome difficult or painful problems using different approaches in psychotherapy.
How does it work?
01.
Access our services
To access our services, you must first contact us via the form on the page Contactez-nous or by phone at 514-271-4407. Depending on your needs, the consultation language and your availability, we will try to find an available therapist as soon as possible.
02.
Prices
The cost of individual therapy (15 to 20 sessions) varies depending on your financial situation. Those receiving social assistance or with no income pay $20 per session. In other cases, it is 12% of your net income. For someone earning $260 net per week, the price would be $31.
03.

To benefit from our services, you must become a member of the organization at a cost of $15 per year. Membership gives you access to individual therapy at a reduced cost and to workshops free of charge. You will also be able to attend the organization’s Annual General Meetings and participate in its development.
Therapeutic approaches
The Myosotis Multiethnic House uses various psychotherapeutic approaches to better meet your needs: humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, systemic, and art therapy. Furthermore, the team specializes in intercultural approaches and addresses complex problems specific to the immigration process, such as: emotional and social disruption, culture and climate shock, loss of cultural and familial bearings, devaluation of values and social status, identity deconstruction and disorientation, as well as all the difficulties related to the adaptation process: unemployment, poverty, language barriers and family conflicts, post-traumatic stress, etc.

01.
Humanistic approach
An individual-centered approach is based on a positive view of human nature. It is a model of psychotherapy that relies on an individual’s innate desire for self-actualization, that is, to use their strengths and develop their potential. As the primary tool for change, the therapeutic relationship is founded on empathy, authenticity, and trust.
03.
Systemic approach
Within this approach, we pay particular attention to the person’s environment and how it is influenced by the various systems surrounding them: family, work, social, etc. The objective is to positively modify a problematic situation through the lens of the person’s relationship with these systems.
02.
Cognitive-behavioral approach
Various techniques and tools are used in this approach to help individuals take charge of their situation by developing cognitive strategies adapted to the problematic circumstances. By modifying the person’s negative beliefs and thoughts about themselves, it promotes the learning of new behaviors.
04.
Art therapy
This approach uses artistic techniques (drawing, collage, painting, sculpture, storytelling, music, dance, etc.) to help people express their emotions and evoke memories through their creations, and to reflect with the therapist on their meaning. It is defined as a psychological support approach centered on self-expression through a creative process.
